Posters for Czech centre in New York
We were supposed to create a poster about Czech Republic, which can hang on the walls of the Czech Centre (so it had to be rather representative).
Czech Centers are organizations promoting Czech Republic abroad by creating a cultural program and other activities.
I decided to look for Czech inventors, who contributed to scientific and social development. I found out, that there are many inventors well-known, as Otto Wichterle (silon, contact lenses), František Křižík (arc lamp) or Prokop Diviš (lightning rod). But there were also less-known, almost forgotten inventors of things with beautiful names, such as "medomet", "dendrometr", "samolet" or "planimeter"! So I created a list of almost 20 inventions and somehow picked up 5 of them to make a sample of a poster series.
All images of the inventions I had drawn myself, photographs of inventors are from internet, as well as the info is from Czech wikipedia, which I had to translate.
